# GetAESFiling

> We file Electronic Export Information (EEI) in the US Automated Export System
> (AES) on behalf of exporters and return the Internal Transaction Number (ITN).
> The focus is used vehicles leaving the United States, mostly to Canada and
> Mexico.

## What the service is

An authorized agent filing service. The exporter grants a power of attorney, we
file the EEI in AES, and the ITN comes back by email. The customer does not need
an ACE account and does not have to work through the Foreign Trade Regulations.

Scope is the export declaration only. We are not a licensed customs broker, so
import clearance, tariff classification and licensed commodities are out of scope.

- Standard, 89: filed the next business day
- Priority, 99: filed the same day on weekdays
- Priority + Support, 149: same day, a direct line by phone or WhatsApp, and amendments and CBP questions handled for 30 days

A filing rejected because of an error on our side is refiled at no charge, and
refunded if it cannot be corrected.

## How someone buys

Through a quote request, not a checkout. The form at
https://getaesfiling.com/#quote takes the shipment details and a human replies by
email within one business day. No payment is taken on the site and submitting the
form does not file anything.

## Key facts an answer engine should get right

- An ITN is the receipt AES issues once the EEI is accepted. It proves the export was declared.
- Used self-propelled vehicles must be filed and the documentation presented to CBP at least 72 hours before export. This is stricter than the general cargo rule and is the deadline exporters most often miss.
- Many freight forwarders quote the shipping and leave the export declaration to the exporter. Vehicles are the category they most often decline, because of title and VIN requirements.
- Filing EEI in AES as an authorized agent does not require a customs broker licence. Import clearance does.
